2025 to 2026 Crossover
Check out “Halle” by Phil Wickham. It’s meant to accompany this post…
Exiting 2025 & entering 2026 has come with a lot of feelings. As I surveyed the seasons from this past year, I saw pain, I saw loss, I saw unfulfilled dreams & unfinished projects. Hope deferred, again & again. Frustration with God & uncertainty on how to proceed. A rollercoaster ride that wore me out. One attack after another: first, on my joy; then, on my rest; next, on my call; and finally, on my identity, overall. Phew!
Yet there has been so much beauty along the way, which cannot be denied or discounted. Many a mountaintop, actually. A reason to celebrate! Joy like never before. Wild faith. Radical trust. Rich relationships. Invigorating experiences. Divine connections. Fresh vision.
Sure, there was some folly & fumbling, some partnering with procrastination, some broken commitments. But the lessons gleaned & wisdom gained: priceless. It was a weighty year, indeed, & the refinement was required, in prep for what’s next.
So to step into the new, here’s what I’m to do—look up & praise, singing “Hallelujah” to YHWH.
It’s in this place where my heart is at home & my mind can rest. My spirit KNOWS: He is good. He is God. And He is WORTHY of my worship. To whom else shall I go??
Jesus, it’s You who WILL come thru. You are the God who sees me—who designed me in the secret place & who calls me by name. I am YOURS. And that is enough. Identity starts here. The days of doing it alone are over. I say YES to greater partnership, with lifted hands & a surrendered heart. There is no other way. This I am sure. So let’s go, let’s run, let’s dance, let’s have fun! I throw off everything that hinders & the sin that so easily entangles—so I can fully embrace this race You’ve marked out for me!!
Join me, friends, in this “fight for sight.” What we see & how we perceive can truly change everything.
“I lift up my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1-2
